About Eighty Two Colours

I was born in 1982 and have always had an eclectic taste in music, books, TV… you could say my taste is colourful. I work full-time as a teacher of English and Media Studies, but when I’m not in the classroom, I’m usually reading, watching true crime, or deep-diving into a new hobby.

During the original lockdown, I taught myself how to make earrings, and from there, I realised I could learn to make anything. Next came beanie hats, which I wanted to line with satin. It took a lot of trial and error (and more than a few too-small, scruffy hats) to figure out how to sew in the satin properly, but eventually I cracked it.

Now, every Autumn/Winter, most of my free time goes into making hats and earrings, and come Christmas, everyone gets one or both. I’ve also started adding book and Kindle sleeves, as well as handbags, to the mix.

Most recently, I’ve learned how to crochet, and I’m completely hooked. I’ll be focusing more on crochet items from now on, so expect to see bold, bright, handmade pieces popping up regularly.

Enjoy having a browse,
